A fine of the Institute of Regional Press is upheld

Judge of the Kuibyshevsky district court of St. Petersburg Julia Trofimova upheld the decision of the justice of the peace who fined the regional press for 400 thousand rubles for refusing to register the "foreign agent". This was reported by Fontanka.ru with reference to the lawyer of the NPO Ivan Pavlov.

According to the lawyer, Trofimova rejected the IRP request for the demand from the Ministry of Justice of documents confirming the violation committed by the organization. "The protocol on the offense was an employee of the Ministry of Justice twice, but the second time did not notify the IRP about the direction of materials to the court. Moreover, both are dated by the same number," Pavlov explained.

IRP was fined on October 9, 2014. The justice of the peace found the organization guilty under Part 1 of Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for the activities of the NPO - "Foreign Agent").

The resolution of Trofimova will also be appealed, Pavlov promised.

Earlier, IRP Director Anna Sharogradskaya stated that she was ready to go through “all possible authorities” , but to challenge the decision to recognize the “foreign agent”, because she does not want her reputation "to be burdened with this kind of stigma."

Meanwhile, on November 20, 2014 , the Ministry of Justice forcibly included the IRP to the appropriate register.
