Crimean football clubs are removed from participation in the competitions of the second division of the Russian Championship. This was reported by TASS with reference to the president of the Moscow "Lokomotiv" Olga Smorodskaya.

The Honorary President of the Russian Football Union Vyacheslav Koloskov noted that such a decision was made on the initiative of the Crimean clubs themselves. At the same time, Koloskov did not rule out that the regional football championship will be held in the annexed Crimea.

At the end of July 2014, the Bureau of the Executive Committee of the RFU allowed the SCFF (Sevastopol), Pearls (Yalta) and TSK (Simferopol) before licensing, after which these clubs became participants in the second Division of the RFU. However, the Football Federation of Ukraine protested this decision.

On December 4, 2014, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) forbade Crimean clubs to participate in the Russian Football Championship . In addition, the RFU was deprived of the right without the sanction of UEFA and the Football Federation of Ukraine to hold matches in the Crimea.

RFU President Nikolai Tolstoy, for his part, said that "further actions of the RFU in relation to Crimean clubs will be within the framework of a decision previously adopted by UEFA." "The RFU will be ready to fulfill the actions that will be proposed by the UEFA," Tolstoy assured.
