On January 23, civil activist Mark Halperin left the special receiver after 8 days of arrest for a single picket to sit for another 30 days the next day. During the administrative arrest against him, a criminal case was opened under a new “rally” article. The activist faces five years in prison. He is ready for any outcome of the process. In court, Halperin intends to call for a peaceful uprising.

Ksenia Kostomina will be defending Halperin in a court in a criminal case. The activist is charged with four episodes: a picket in defense of swamp prisoners on August 6 last year, a march on Myasnitskaya on December 5, a picket with a poster "Je Suis Charlie" and participation in the gathering on Manely January 15 . To initiate the case under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code, three involvement under Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for six months is enough.
Halperin became the second person involved in the "pickets." On January 16, the case under this article was opened against 75-year-old Vladimir Ionov . On January 23, he was charged .
