Resolution, you taught us

Pase adopted a resolution that accuses Moscow of escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. It is reported by Ukrainian Pravda. 140 out of 155 deputies who were present in the hall voted for the adoption of the document. Seven were opposed, in particular, representatives of Russia.

When discussing the project, notes the publication, the resolution was complemented by a number of tough statements to Russia. If the initial edition only recorded the details of the conflict, in the final form the document became sharply critical in relation to Moscow.

In particular, the resolution calls for Russia "to refrain from financing terrorism in Ukraine and providing support to illegal armed groups, as well as influence them to fulfill the Minsk agreements."

In addition, the document includes a clause requiring Moscow to free the captured Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko and all other “prisoners of war”. These people are "illegally contained in prisons of the Russian Federation," is emphasized in the resolution of the Assembly.

Significant adjustments were made to the point on Russian "humanitarian convoys". Their sending to Ukraine violates international law, is indicated in the document. In addition, members of the Assembly noted, the columns coming from Russia are actually not humanitarian convoys.

The discussion also arose around fragments in which the illegality of the annexation of Crimea is stated. Representatives of Russia insisted on the exclusion of these fragments from the text, but the assembly did not support any of these proposals.

According to the publication, the majority of Moscow initiatives received support at best about 20 deputies. The supporters of these proposals were mainly members of the Russian delegation itself.
