Service specialists are working to troubleshoot problems

This morning, the world's largest social network Facebook and its photo and video application Instagram were unavailable to users. Problems were observed all over the world. An hour later, access was restored.

Around 9:10 Moscow time, Facebook and Instagram users encountered problems when trying to access these social networks. Both web resources and mobile applications were unavailable. However, another service included in Facebook, the instant messaging program What`sApp, worked as usual.

The reasons for the failure are unknown. The official Instagram account on Twitter reported that service specialists are working to fix the problem. It was not possible to obtain comments from the official representative of Facebook in Russia, Ekaterina Skorobogatova, at the time of writing.

Facebook is the world's most popular social network, with an audience of 1.35 billion people in October 2014. Capitalization - about $216 billion. According to TNS, the monthly active audience of Facebook in Russia in November 2014 was 24.2 million users. In April 2012, Instagram was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion. In Russia, the monthly audience of Instagram in December 2014 amounted to 13.3 million users.

About an hour later, after problems with access appeared, it was restored. The last time users saw Facebook fall was on August 1 last year: then Facebook was unavailable around the world for half an hour.
