"We will be ashamed of such a common story." Ukrainian students turned to peers from Russia

Kyiv students recorded a video message to students of Moscow universities with an appeal to “raise the information curtain”, think about the future of Russia and Ukraine, not to believe blindly in everything that Russian propaganda is trying to inspire:

- We, students of the National Aviation University, turn to you, students of the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation.

- We, the team of the National Technical University of Ukraine, the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, want us to be heard by every student and employee of the Moscow State Technical University.

- The Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko calls on all students of the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov.

-Studpersion of the National Economic University appeals to all students of the Moscow Financial and Industrial University "Synergy".

- We have a war in our country now, both yours and our soldiers are dying in our country now, civilians die. We urge you to raise the information curtain! Check what you hear. Doubt what you see.

This is what actually shares us - information noise

- They say that Russians and Ukrainians are one people. Perhaps it was so, until recently. Now there is a huge difference between us, we are standing on different sides of the barricades, and between us are kilometers of misunderstanding. Between us were fairy tales about the Nazis, Ukrainian nationalists, the "Right Sector" and Bandera. This is what actually shares us is an informational noise.

- We are students. Students are a movement, it is the strength and future of the nation. We urge you to be the best representatives of your people. Do not clog yourself with fakes and misinformation, be smarter and cleaner from political games. Think, check, doubt.

- Exactly a year ago, Yanukovych’s dictatorial regime was overthrown in our country. Total corruption, a complete abandonment of European integration, censorship in the media and police lawlessness forced students to reach a peaceful action of protest. After her bloody acceleration, millions of Ukrainians over the whole country came out. We were very scared, a lot of people died, but we managed, we rally, we became even stronger. The leadership of your country calls this a power seizure of power, but this is not so. This is a revolution of the dignity of our people, ordinary people from all over Ukraine for their rights and freedoms.

You do not have to believe each of our word, we ask you only one thing - doubt and check

- Recall recent events. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea is the territory of an independent state of Ukraine, which, after the escape of the Mount President Yanukovych, is filled with the troops of the regular army of your country and which holds a referendum under the muzzles of the Crimea annexation to Russia. Yes, this information is most likely different from the one that has been distributed in your media and social networks. You do not have to believe each of our word, we ask you only one thing - doubt and check.

- War. Daily reports about the dead. Mobilization. Refugees. Thousands of twenty -year -old guys crippled for the rest of their lives. Here is our reality. And only we decide how to live with her.

- Do you still not understand why Europe and the United States of America impose sanctions against the Russian Federation? Do you still believe in a worldwide conspiracy against great and sacred Russia? Are there really only your own and strangers in your world? Believe me, the only one who is to blame for our problems is you and I, more precisely, are the leaders of our countries. Europe and America, where human life is the main value, simply defend their principles, and not try to put anyone on their knees.

We want to fight with you at the scientific Olympiads and the Olympic Games, and not in the Donbass

“Both you and we will have to explain to our children why we shot at each other.” Or did nothing to prevent the war. We will be ashamed of such a common story.

- Behind us is the future of our countries. It is you and I have to manage and develop our states.

The author of the idea of this video is a graduate of the Kiev National Aviation University Evgeny Melnik. He hopes that Moscow students will pay attention to the words of their peers from Ukraine:

- In the creation of this video, ordinary students of Kyiv universities took part. The main goal is to counteract the information propaganda that is now unfolding in Russia. It is very strange to read and watch news about crucified boys and other similar plots.

- How were those who were in the frame selected?

- The idea of this video occurred to me. There are active people in university publics, and they always communicate with each other. We phoned the guys, offered such an idea, the students agreed. All together wrote the text of the appeal. Then our friend, who has a camera, called, asked him to shoot us. They removed, mounted and laid it out. There were no, as they write in the comments, directed professionally shots, video editors. This is an ordinary student initiative.

- You reject the accusations that this is also propaganda, only Ukrainian, and this was not organized by the state structure that is engaged in information?

- This is a big compliment to this work. No, these are ordinary students who are trying to do something in order to stop the information war. It is the information war that is now feeding on what is happening in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. It is because of her every day everything is tougher and tougher.

- You turn directly to students of specific Moscow universities. What reaction do you expect from them?

“We are waiting for them to record their appeal.” It is clear that this video is unlikely to reach all the inhabitants of Russia. The only thing we called for students of Moscow universities is to doubt and check the information that is now distributed in Russia.
