The Russian government approved a program for the development of mass sports

The Russian government approved the federal targeted program for the development of physical education and mass sports for 2016–2020. This is stated in the message on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of Russia .

The cost of the program is 94.3 billion rubles. Among other things, it includes the arrangement of 352 low-budget sports facilities of walking distance, the creation and development of existing federal sports and training centers, and the commissioning of 200 football fields with artificial coating.

In addition, the program provides:

- ensuring the necessary infrastructure conditions to achieve targeted indicators of the development strategy of physical culture and sports for the period until 2020;

-the creation of new and the development of existing federal sports and training centers for training in the middle of the Middle Ages, the Black Sea coast, the Far East and the Baikalia athletes of sports teams of Russia in sports, included in the programs of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the construction and reconstruction of 15 sports facilities in federal sports and training centers, 26 sports facilities. objects in educational organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Sports, 2 sports facilities in the Crimea;

-construction of 17 regional sports and training centers, including at least 3 regional centers in rowing sports, for the preparation of athletes of the subjects of the Federation, in which these sports are basic, and 1 sports and training center for the training of sports teams of Russia for the most massive sports, not included in the programs of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (sports aerobics, acrobatic rock and roll, martial arts, baseball, softball);

- commissioning of 200 football fields with artificial coating;

- Reconstruction of 8 objects of sports infrastructure in the Crimea.

By 2020, the program involves creating conditions for attracting at least 40% of the Russian population to regular exercises.
