Pushkov: the admission of delegates to Pase to Savchenko depends on the decision on the right of Russian vote

The admission of the delegates to PACE to their colleague Ukrainian Nadezhda Savchenko, contained in the Russian pre -trial detention center, directly depends on whether Russia will have the right to vote in the assembly. According to European Pravda, such a statement was made by the head of the Russian delegation in PACA, the chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Uneneros Alexei Pushkov.

Uneneros said that the Russian delegation intends to appeal to the TFR with a request to admit Pase’s representatives to Savchenko to the Moscow SIZO-6 Pechatniki so that Europeans can "make sure of her health and conduct conversations with her." At the same time, Pushkov added, "such a proposal can be implemented only if the Russian delegation remains in PACE."

Meanwhile, according to TASS, earlier on Wednesday the deputy head of the Russian delegation, Zhirinovets Leonid Slutsky assured that Russia, if its vote and exclusion from the governing bodies of PACA would freeze all relations with the Assembly until the end of 2015. Pushkov confirmed this position.

Uneneros added that he would inform the conditions for the admission of representatives of PACE to Savchenko during the debate on the Russian issue, which should take place on Wednesday evening.

On January 26, Pushkov stated that the international immunity that Savchenko Pase endowed, would not have any significance for the hostage. “De facto this immunity has no consequences for Savchenko because it is in Russia,” Uneneros emphasized. "She was accused of serious crimes committed long before she was elected a member of the Verkhovna Rada and entered the Ukrainian delegation in PACE," he explained.

Earlier on Wednesday, the PACE commission on monitoring supported the proposal to extend the sanctions imposed against Moscow after the annexation of Crimea, depriving Russia of the vote and excluding it from the governing bodies of the Assembly. The proposal was accepted by 35 votes against 34. Now it should be considered at the PACE meeting. As expected, the decision on the Russian issue will be made on Wednesday evening.
