The German clinic denied the "diagnosis" made by the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation to the grandson of an Omsk farmer

Thanks to the readers of Novaya, the Raduga Foundation and fellow Shumakovs, residents of the Omsk Region, the farmer's grandson Denis Shumakov is on the mend. As we wrote earlier, 25 thousand euros were collected for his treatment at the Freiburg University Hospital in Germany.

Recall that the trouble with Denis happened suddenly more than eight years ago - before that he grew up healthy and cheerful, he never even caught a cold. In the summer of 2006, severe headaches began, which became constant since autumn and were accompanied by vomiting. In January 2007, after a cold, gait and speech were disturbed. In the next few weeks, the condition worsened - the arms and legs completely ceased to obey. Denis studied then in the third grade. For three years he lay almost motionless. Doctors informed the parents about the suspicion of a brain tumor, but the course of treatment with various drugs, including hormonal ones, did not give any result.

Examinations in Omsk, Novosibirsk, Russian Children's Clinical Hospital (RCCH) did not reveal the nature of the disease. Two years ago, a molecular study conducted by Kazakh doctors found a heavy metal, thallium, in the body of a teenager. The fact that poisoning with it could cause illness was not ruled out by the doctor of the psycho-neurological department of the RCCH Dmitry Savvin, under whose guidance Denis has been treated for more than 6 years.

But the presidential administration has a different opinion about the origin of the illness of the farmer’s grandson, as we wrote about in the article “And once again Patience” (August 6, 2014). A year ago, in response to one of Pyotr Fedorovich's numerous appeals to the top, she issued a version that is not in Denis's medical history: "a hereditary degenerative progressive disease."

Following the supreme authority, the government of the Omsk region carried out diagnostics. In a letter to a farmer dated December 19, 2014, Vyacheslav Sinyugin, First Deputy Governor, clarified: “The preliminary diagnosis is a degenerative disease – hereditary cerebellar degeneration.”

Based on their own research, the officials recommended that Denis be treated not in Germany, but in the "genetic department of the RCCH."

The Freiburg clinic denied the diagnosis of the Russian authorities. On January 22, a package arrived in the village of Patience from Professor Koritenberg, its head physician, with a detailed report on the work done by the doctors. Studies (laboratory, electrophysiological, etc.) have shown that assumptions about the heredity of the disease are unfounded. The diagnosis, which can be considered final, since there is no equal in Europe in terms of equipping this clinic, is “toxic-metabolic damage to the central nervous system” (which means external influence - poisoning), which happened, writes the professor, “most likely in 2006”.

As a result, the farmer and his grandson spent a month in Freiburg. During this time, significant progress has been made in the treatment. Hands are gaining strength every day. Speech is still not very clear and you still need to learn how to walk without assistance, but this is a matter of time. You no longer need to take drugs, the professor writes, you should undergo a course of physiotherapy.

Pyotr Shumakov wrote a statement to the FSB with a request to establish who gave his grandson a false diagnosis.
