
The militants in Donetsk detained a sabotage group of three Russian citizens. They moved around the city by car and fired from the mortar. The message about this was published in the group "Summers of Novorossia" on the VKontakte page on Wednesday evening.
"The enemy DRG was detained in Donetsk. 3 people with a mortar fired at the city, moved by car. All three, citizens of the Russian Federation - 2 from Krasnodar, 1 from the Krasnodar Territory," the report said.
On Thursday, the Verkhovna Rada deputy, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko said that this group was involved in the shelling of a trolleybus stop in Donetsk on January 22. According to him, the information is double -checking Ukrainian intelligence and is confirmed. Gerashchenko recalls that the separatists and Russia accused the Ukrainian military in this attack and used it to incite hatred of Ukraine.
On January 22, a trolleybus stop was fired in Donetsk. As a result of the incident, 13 people died, dozens were injured. According to witnesses, shelling was led from an automatic mortar "2B9 Charlelest" with a caliber of 82 millimeters. Such weapons are often used by the DPR militants to shell the positions of the Ukrainian military from residential arrays.
The next day, the OSCE published a report, which stated that the projectile on the trolleybus situation was released from the mortar or artillery installation from the north-west direction . The trolleybus and the burned car standing next to the stop was struck by fragments. All windows in the trolleybus were knocked out, the tires were broken.
The head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, entrusted the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko responsibility for the shelling of the stop. Turning to the Ukrainian leader, the leader of the militants noted: “We are able to move your units from our cities in order to stop the shelling of the settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zakharchenko said that after the shelling of the trolleybus in Donetsk, he would order the militants no longer to take prisoners from among the Ukrainian military.
