The administrative case against Ildar Dadin was reclassified as criminal

The Basmanny District Court of Moscow ruled to terminate administrative proceedings against Dadin under Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses and reclassify the act committed by him as a criminal offense - 212.1 of the Criminal Code (“Repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally, demonstration, procession or picketing” ), into the Criminal Code in July 2014 and providing for imprisonment of up to 5 years as punishment.

In court, Dadin stated that his actions on December 5 were within the framework of the article of the Russian Constitution guaranteeing freedom of assembly, as well as the European Convention on Human Rights. The detention at the rally, in his opinion, was illegal.
