Leviathan and fundamentalists

The film of the Golden Globe, Andrei Zvyagintsev, “Leviathan” is released in Russian rental. At one time, it seemed that the prime minister might not take place at all: the tape in a sense became the moral outcome of the Putin era and caused strong discontent of the paratriots. But, it seems, Pasternakovskaya persecution of the director is canceled or transferred for an indefinite period. And that means that the media waves will soon subside and the viewer will be left alone with the picture. Will he watch such a movie?

The question, the answer to which we will soon receive. And this answer is not obvious.

Of course, the film attracts its naked truth. Here is a corrupt local government that destroys a small person. Here is the drunkenness, the hopelessness of the Russian hinterland. Here are “spiritual scrapers”, along with officials, they build a temple on tears. And all this happens against the backdrop of beautiful landscapes of the Russian North. Squirrels: neorealism and symbolism in one package.

If most Russians watched the film, the country would have become different. Because the bottom is shown here, and a normal person just needs to do something: floundering, pushing, looking for a way out. Zvyagintsev with his film text stands in a number of classics of Russian literature. He, like them, wakes up thought, calls for action.

However, this comparison is not only laurels, but also Achilles's heel of the film. Reading the classics today is problematic. There is a certain threshold of efforts that must be overcome in order to turn the next page of “Crime and Punishment”. Each new frame of Leviathan has to endure. Because there is no drive: neither crimes, nor chases, nor even fights, although in the plot one fight plays an important role, but it remains behind the scenes. The film is clearly not enough dynamics. This is an author's movie that, by definition, cannot be massive. And if the viewer reaches out, then largely thanks to the ideological fuss around Zvyagintsev, which suddenly turned into a PR action. Although, of course, it is a pity, despite the successful turn of the case that, together with the director who had been worn for living officials, the Union of Orthodox citizens, LNG participated in the persecution of the director. Well, without him, the birthplace. Be sure to comrades to light up.

In the last Christmas readings, surprisingly boring and slurred, representatives of these same citizens distributed a leaflet with a demand to prevent the rental of the Zvyagintsev tape. “This film is precisely and only“ Smerdyakovskaya Pravda ”,“ Leviathan ”according to the plan of the film - this is the Russian state, the people and the Russian Church, the unworthy existence, whose destruction is good.”

Of course, among Christians there can be different opinions on issues that are not related to the foundations of faith. It can be quite radical. Let someone not like the film for ideological reasons. Happens. But why incite the next civil war inside the church fence and poison the "liberals"? And after all, this organization does, tilted by the Patriarch.

In order not to be unfounded, I’ll give a quote from the leaflet: “The fact that the film’s lawyers were found not only in the comprador media, but also among the meager number of clergymen, does not change the essence of the matter, but only testifies to the attempts of anti-Russian forces to form the Patriarch Kirill and in the church.”

It turns out that everyone who looked at the film automatically becomes enemies. And it doesn’t matter who you are a layman, a priest or bishop. There is a clear criterion. LNG is unpleasant. It is curious that at least one hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church was about at least one hierarch. Metropolitan Murmansk and Monchegorsky Simon (Goethy) called him honest, revealing the life problems of modern Russia.

Metropolitan tactfully circumvented the image of the bishop. But it is he who causes a tough reaction of the fundamentalists. They say that there are no such bishops in the Russian Orthodox Church. How not! Yes, look at the Metropolitan of Arkhangelsk and Kholmogorsk Daniel (Dorovsky), who ruined the life of the community of Fr. John Privalov and destroying the house of the new martyr, look at the Metropolitan of the Pskov and Velikoluksky Eusebius (Savvina), who was pleasing over the deceased Fr. Pavel Adeelheim. By the way, a story, very similar to Zvyagintsevskaya, happened in the diocese of the Grace. A few years ago, the state did not allow the Pskov entrepreneur to register ownership of the building he built, but gave it to the ownership of the ROC MP. The former businessman lost faith . Now he is a shirt at a construction site.

The point, however, is not in the dishonest actions of individual top managers. The point is in the system when the hierarchs became part of the ideological apparatus. Many believers are not at all enthusiastic about the fact that Patriarch Cyril goes to the State Duma and makes not quite balanced speeches there. But we must understand that in this way he tries to light up in the right context, because his positions are weakening every month. And Putin can shift it from the department with one click. For many years, the church dreamed of "cooperation" with the state. Now the patriarch reapes the fruits of all this.

Alas, the Russian Orthodox Church has become part of the stateist. And Zvyagintsev honestly showed what "cooperation" leads to. True, he did not say a word about another church, which is not in logs, but in the ribs. About people who are focused on unprofitated freedom, to freedom in Christ.

Who knows, maybe he will tell about them in another tape?
