In the late 1980s, Izhevsk-the capital of Udmurtia-was also an unofficial capital of Russian electronic music, which, however, did not know about . In 2015, the Bamboo knocking in the XI o'clock, the ripples of the mutant and the Burunduk-Quartet, continues the Cetranger group preparing for the release of the vinyl single and representing the clip for the title song “How to Be”, which visualizes the metaphor “Snow Music”. Video author: Katerina Mezentseva.
- Tell us about the new release of your group - what is it and why is it needed?
- This is a plate about attachment and anger. Two states of a person who are well revealing strangers within each of us at different moments of life. We are attached, love, cherish, we break down, scolded, hate. Hence two different tracks in the release- “ H OW T O B E” and “ S Pear- W Ords” ...
The title song is almost two years old. Now she has gained physical shape in the form of a record, which we are madly happy. The path to this was not easy. A lot of disputes, alterations, but in the end we are satisfied with the result, which in an interesting way turned into a soundtrack to a certain stage of human life.
-Do you still adhere to the definition of “musical landscape” in relation to your notes or did any other appear?
- Yes, we like this definition. And when writing music, we still draw in the imagination of cinema about people and feelings.
- Cetranger is not a group, but a collaboration? Tell us about the main participants. How does she act alive?
- There are several people in our group - Sasha Odegov (guitar), Grisha Saltykov (vocals), Alexander Kalabaev (keys, programming), Anton Lansky (coffee, buns). I don’t want to talk about each in detail. Since before the listener should find out the music well, and only then get acquainted with those who are behind it. At the moment, in addition to studio experiments and pouring on new compositions, we are working on a live program.
- What Izhevsk musicians and groups have influenced you?
-As for the influence of other musicians, everything is simple here-all the musicians that we have ever heard influenced us. One way or another. And this influence naturally continues with every new song heard, bad or wonderful.
