2014. Execution in a Moscow school

A year ago, on February 3, 2014, in Moscow school No. 263, a tenth grader Sergey Gordeev shot a geography teacher and two police officers from a carbine and a rifle. This was the first case of school shooting in Russia. The teacher and one of the police officers were killed, and the second policeman was seriously wounded. The shooter himself studied “excellent” and claimed a gold medal. His father, according to some reports, was a police colonel, deputy head of the external observation department of the operational-search bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He introduced his son to shoot. The examination recognized the student as insane and diagnosed him with paranoid schizophrenia.
