Today Rambler & Co is relaunching the Rambler-Real Estate online resource. From an information portal it is being transformed into a site for posting paid advertisements for apartments, land plots in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large cities. Competitors, however, were skeptical about this idea.

A source in the company told Kommersant that Rambler & Co is relaunching the Rambler-Real Estate information portal ( realty.rambler.ru ), and was confirmed by the head of Rambler-Real Estate, Evgenia Vladimirova. She said that the portal interface will be changed and a database of real estate objects will appear. “A set of additional “smart” functionality will also be launched, which will attract professional market participants,” she hopes.

Rambler-Real Estate will be linked to the Afisha.ru website, also part of the Rambler & Co holding, and it will cooperate with the Moscow city services portal pgu.mos.ru. Thanks to this, users will be able to analyze the infrastructure of the area and find out where kindergartens, schools, cafes and restaurants, museums and cinemas are located, and what transport will be used to get to their place of residence.

The project will work directly with both individuals and real estate agencies and construction companies. Users of the service will be able to post an advertisement for the sale or rental of an apartment directly on the website. One ad per day with auto-loading will cost 30 kopecks, the cost of other additional services, such as ad promotion, will be further determined. Companies will be encouraged to use automated upload tools.

User proposals will be moderated manually, and the database will be “collected from professional sources,” one of which, for example, will be the automated real estate database “Agenton.” At first, the base will cover Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region; later other Russian cities with a population of over a million will be added, Rambler & Co. promises. The project will make money from media advertising, but will also develop the service part with micropayments, the Internet holding expects. According to Google Analytics, in December 2014 realty.rambler.ru had 1.63 million unique visitors.

Rambler & Co's business diversification is taking place against the backdrop of a crisis in the advertising market. According to the manager of a large Internet company, the relaunch of Rambler Real Estate is logical, since Rambler & Co has long planned to transform from a purely media company into a technology and media service company. But competitors are skeptical. “This is another platform, and success will depend, no matter how banal it sounds, on implementation,” says Maxim Melnikov, general director of CIAN Group, which recently sold a 27% stake to the Elbrus Capital fund. “If they do it well, the service will fly.” " It’s bad - the “chips” won’t help.”
