Investigators returned the seized delicacies to the colonel

Over a ton of red caviar and almost two centners of red fish was transported by military aircraft from Kamchatka to St. Petersburg by the commander of the aviation regiment of the Western Military District (ZVO), 39-year-old Colonel Anatoly Kizyakov. According to him, he bought so many goods with personal money in order to "treat his comrades." Military investigators believed the colonel and returned to him the delicacies seized two months ago. Although earlier they believed that seafood could be obtained illegally.

A large consignment of red fish and salmon caviar arrived in the cargo compartment of a military transport Il-76 from one of the airfields in Kamchatka to the military airfield in Levashovo (a separate transport aviation regiment of the Western Military District) on October 11. According to the investigation, the aircraft was unloaded by conscripts of military unit No. 49719. They transferred 40 containers of salmon caviar, 25 kg each, 5 containers of salmon caviar, 13 kg each, and another 175 kg of red fish, rented from the St. Petersburg private company Gazel. Then they transported all this to Kronstadt, where they put it in a military refrigerator of the complex storage warehouse for logistics (MTS) of military unit No. Since the pilots did not have any documents for fish products, military investigators seized the cargo.

The unexpected find was studied by specialists of the 53rd Center for Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise and Laboratory Diagnostics of the WMD. According to the results of their study, caviar and fish did not meet safety requirements, as they contained mold, staphylococci and an increased number of harmful microorganisms. According to experts, this may indicate that salmonids were caught by poachers without following the technology. Specialists issued an order to destroy caviar and fish as dangerous for consumption.

According to the preliminary version of the investigation, seafood was being prepared for sale through the retail chains of the city. However, the owner of the cargo, Anatoly Kizyakov, insisted that he purchased caviar and fish for himself, at his own expense, 1000 rubles each. per kilogram (the average market price is 2,500 rubles), that is, he paid more than 1.2 million rubles for them. And then, according to him, he decided to ship seafood to a new place of service, to St. Petersburg, in order to "treat friends and colleagues."

For two months, the investigators worked out all the versions, but settled on the one proposed by the colonel. At the end of January, the Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for the Western Military District issued a decision to refuse to initiate a criminal case against Anatoly Kizyakov. The caviar and fish were returned to him.

Meanwhile, the investigation has not yet found out whether the cargo was delivered legally. Commercial transportation of military transport aircraft is prohibited, in addition, the officer did not have the right to use a military aircraft for personal purposes.
