Putin fired the chief investigator of Moscow

Vadim Yakovenko, head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee for Moscow, was dismissed from his position by Decree of President Vladimir Putin. The corresponding decree is published on the official portal of legal information.

By the same decree, the deputy head of the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Viktor Smirnov, prosecutors of the Chuvash and Kurgan regions and a number of employees who occupied leading posts in the Ministry of Internal Affairs were sent. The reasons for the resignation in the document are not mentioned.
