At the fair

Akatui is a traditional spring festival of Chuvash in honor of the end of sowing work. Ivan Mikhailov visited the festive fairs dedicated to the Akatha, including the Tikhvinsky Fair, at which his father, photographer Vladislav Mikhailov visited 30 years ago. At the exhibition"Marie. From the author

In my project, I wanted to touch on the clash of the mythological pagan past Chuvash and modern everyday life, the transformations occurring in the city and the village. This is an attempt to study my roots, to understand the place where I was born and raised. The territory of my study passed through museums and city spaces. I visited national holidays in the most remote villages, after 30 years, repeating the photographic route of my father.
