Interfax: Director will change in the Tretyakov Gallery

A source close to the leadership of the Ministry of Culture told Interfax that the general director of the State Tretyakov Gallery Irina Lebedeva will be resigned in the near future.

“Lebedeva in the Ministry of Culture has been unhappy for a long time, and in the near future it will most likely be replaced with another person,” the interlocutor of Interfax said.

He also said that today, February 10, Lebedeva meets with the leadership of the Ministry of Culture and will report to him "on the situation in his department."

According to the source, Zelfir Tregulov, who is now heading the State Museum and Exhibition Center “Rosyo” of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and “in museum circles, is considered the best candidate for this position,” will be appointed general director of the Tretyakovka.

“We hope that the Board of Trustees will be determined and appoint a person who can make a convenient, comfortable museum from the gallery for both specialists and for everyone else,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
