The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine denied the information that Kyiv turned to Russia with a request to restructure the debt of 3 billion dollars.
The fact that Ukraine asked to restructure the debt was previously announced by the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov. At the same time, he noted that Russia is not ready to grant a deferral of payments.
“There was no such appeal regarding the restructuring. Ukraine simply announced that it would negotiate with all its creditors. Specifically about this (about the request for debt restructuring), the information is not true. The information is not confirmed," the press service of the Ministry of Finance said.

- The Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation earlier on February 10 said that negotiations with the Ukrainian side on debt restructuring took place in January 2015. According to him, the Russian side then expressed bewilderment about the fact that the budget adopted by Ukraine for 2015 did not include funds to pay off obligations to Russia.
- Russia agreed to provide Kyiv with a $15 billion loan at the end of 2013, when Viktor Yanukovych held the presidency of Ukraine. Ukraine was transferred the first part of the loan in the amount of 3 billion. At the end of February 2014, Yanukovych was removed from the presidency, after which the Russian Federation announced the suspension of further payments.
- The Russian side has repeatedly reminded that it may demand early repayment of the loan due to violation of the terms of its provision - Ukraine's public debt exceeded 60% of GDP, which is contrary to the terms of the agreement.
