The Ukrainian pilot intends to continue the hunger strike, which has been going on for 60 days

On February 10, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended the term of arrest to the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko until May 13, 2015. In addition, the court decided to combine two criminal cases initiated against Savchenko (aiding in the murder of two or more persons in connection with the implementation of official activities and illegal crossing of the border) into one production. At the meeting, the investigator said that the term of the investigation of the case of war crimes in Ukraine was also extended for three months. The petition for the security for security is rejected.

Savchenko said she intends to continue the hunger strike - she has been starving for 60 days. “I will continue the hunger strike until I returned to Ukraine or until my last day in Russia,” she told the press.

During the meeting, the defense was required by judge Arthur Karpov. According to one of Savchenko’s lawyers Ilya Novikov, the allotment is due to the fact that the judge is on the Magnitsky List. The court refused the challenge.

Answering NT questions, the lawyer of the Ukrainian pilot Mark Feigin noted that in court the accused looked “cheerful, but lost a lot of weight”. In addition, Feigin noted that Savchenko intends to continue the hunger strike and further despite the persuasion of the defense. “At the meeting, the FSIN certificate was presented, which assessed the state of health of hope as satisfactory,” Feigin said.

According to the investigation, the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko in the summer of 2014 was detained in the territory of the Russian Federation as a suspect in the case of the murder of Russian journalists - according to the investigation, she acted as a gunner. Since December 13, 2014, the accused announced an unlimited hunger strike. Nadezhda Savchenko, already in the Russian prison, was elected as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and has the immunity of a member of the PACE delegation.
