Goethe-Institute will be built a complex of buildings in Moscow

The Government of Moscow transfers to Germany a plot of land for rent for the construction of a unified complex of buildings of the Gete Cultural Institute named after Gete.

According to TASS , the head of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations of Moscow Sergey Cheremin, the site is located in the Baumanskaya metro area, where the German Sloboda was historically.

“This is the first step towards the physical construction of the Goethe Institute, which has been working in the Russian Federation successfully for a quarter century,” commented German ambassador to Russia Rudeiger von Frich.

Assistance in the implementation of this project was promised to provide the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov. I am sure that cultural ties are the most reliable and main basis for strengthening public and economic ties, ”he said.

The non-governmental organization of Goethe-Institute was created in 1951 with the aim of popularizing the German language abroad and strengthening cultural interaction with Germany, including the exchange of films, music, literature and public values.

Today in 93 countries of the world there are 159 Goethe-Institutes, in Russia there are three in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
