Ilya Romanov: explosion and repression

In Nizhny Novgorod, the case of Ilya Romanov, anarchist, accused of preparing the terrorist attack and storage of explosives, should soon be referred to the court. Romanov admits that there may be claims to him under an article on the circulation of explosives (222 of the Criminal Code), but the preparation of the attack (Article 30, part 1 of article 205 of the Criminal Code) denies. And, indeed, with evidence, the investigation has obvious problems.

Explosive biography

On the night of October 26, 2013, a man with injuries of his hand, left eye and face was in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. The injuries of the face and left eye were frivolous, and the left brush and part of the forearm did had to amputate. A certain object exploded in his hands. According to the investigation, a home -made bomb, according to the victim - home -made firecracker.

Ilya Romanov, a local anarchist born in 1967, suffered from a night explosion. He has been participating in public life since the late 80s, in his “track record”-the now forgotten democratic union, the confederation of anarcho-syndicalists, the “keepers of the rainbow”, “student protection”, etc. But this is not the reason for the increased interest of the local center “E” in the incident to Ilya Romanov.

In Nizhny Novgorod, Romanov returned from Ukraine only in 2012, before he entered the hospital (and from the hospital - in jail) he worked in low -paid work. According to Russian laws, he is not convicted, although he served 10 years in Ukraine in the case of Odessa separatists . The complaint of the defendants in the “case of Odessa separatists” was aimed at the ECHR, first of all, to torture during the investigation. This is how they describe their misadventures: “Danilov and Alekseev, who had armed resistance to Berkut during his arrest, were especially cruelly tortured. Alekseev was courageously held until the moment when he was arranged a confrontation with his bride - seventeen -year -old Polish. The exhausted girl, whom the police scum threatened to rape with a mop, begged him to submit, and he signed the testimonies stipulating him and his comrades, after which he tried to commit suicide, but did not die, but only received severe injury.

Danilov was beaten for several days: they suspended on the hole, beat their heads against the wall, jumped on it, left a nap in a cold chamber. As a result, the man’s teeth were knocked out and seven ribs were broken, the fragments of which damaged the lung. Danilov began a purulent pleurisy, from which the suspect almost died, and later he developed tuberculosis.

In the fall of 2003, at the beginning of the trial in Odessa, 20-year-old Berdyugin, riveted by handcuffs to a hospital bed, died from cancer. Already at the first court hearing he was brought in his arms. Before that, he signed anything, sometimes inventing some non-existent people-so that they would not beat. ”

The wife of Ilya Romanov, Larisa (now lives in Moscow), also served about 6 years in Russia, and also for the explosion of a low -power bomb next to the FSB reception, as well as supposedly preparing the attempt on the then governor of the Krasnodar Territory Nikolai Kondratenko - also through the explosion. Larisa Romanova denies his guilt, the famous lawyer Stanislav Markelov, who was later killed by the Nazis, was engaged in her defense. Nizhny Novgorod bomb

But law enforcement officers do not have evidence of the preparation of the terrorist attack. Ilya Romanova admits that his manipulations with explosive substances can be described by 222 of the Criminal Code, but notes that the object exploded in his hands did not have affected elements, was ten times less than a grenade. Not far from the scene of the explosion is the military registration and enlistment office, but Romanov says that he found out about this during the investigation, there was no reason to attack him. One of them served a sentence in the territory controlled by the DPR, he was solemnly released from the colony. Textual forgery

Romanov’s terrorist motive proves the investigation with two files allegedly discovered on his computer. The first contains an insult written with errors against representatives of the authorities, the second - the release of the neo -Nazi edition "Aryan terror. Journal of practical training of white terrorists. " Romanov insists that both files are written into his computer by law enforcement officers.

Romanov’s files described in detail in his statement to the Committee against torture. The first is called "Text.doc" and "represents two illiterate lines containing obscene vocabulary":

The operatives of the Nizhny Novgorod Center “E” were previously at the center of a similar scandal - during the “case of Red Anarchy Skinheads”, throwing the identification of a non -existent radical organization to local anti -fascists.

The threats of operatives

Ilya Romanov also requires a criminal case against operatives for threats. The current investigative committee of his statement is about the actions of the employees of the EE Center of Nizhny Novgorod, who on December 6, 2013 took Romanov from a pre -trial detention center for a “conversation”, during which they insulted him, threatened the physical reprisal of Romanov himself and “creating an intolerable atmosphere for close relatives”. Employees of the ED center at the same time demanded that Romanov write a confession.

Also, the investigation considers the opportunity to add Romanov an accusation of extremist calls. If this happens, another legal conflict will occur.
