Jafar Panahi's film won Berlinale

The owner of the Golden Bear-the main prize of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival-was the film "Taxi" (Taxi) of the Iranian director Jafar Panahi.

This is the third work of Panahi after he was convicted by the Iranian authorities for anti -government activities and received a ban on the profession, TASS reports. The director himself played the main role in his film: he played a taxi driver who goes along Tehran and talks with passengers.

This year another 18 films claimed the main prize, including the poetic drama of Alexei German Jr. “under the electric clouds”, which ultimately received a “silver bear” for an outstanding contribution to art. The prize was awarded to the film operators Sergei Mikhulchuk and Evgeny Pravon.

The laureate of the Grand Prix of the jury of the festival was the Chilean director Pablo Larrain. He was awarded for the film " Club / The Club ), about the community of former priests expelled from the church for his misconduct.

The Silver Bear for the best directing was awarded Radu Zhode (Romania) for the black-and-white historical drama "Amerim" ( AFERIM ) and the Malgozhat Shumovskaya (Poland) for the film "Body" ( Body ), which the director herself called the priests about modern man.

For the best script, documentary Patricio Gusman (Chile), whose painting “The mother -of -pearl button” ( El Bóton de Nacár ), talks about the history and life of the indigenous population of Patagonia was awarded.

Acting prizes were received by the British Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtney, who played the elderly married couple in the film " 45 Years) Andrew Hay.

On February 12, the Honorary Award of the Camera of Berlinale was awarded to the Russian cinema, Naum Kleiman, the founder and first director of the Museum of Cinema.
