Russians will be able to pay rubles in Egypt

The Ministry of Tourism of Egypt approved the decision to introduce ruble mutual settlements with Russia. This was announced by RIA "Novosti" Representative of the Ministry of Tourism of the country Muhamed Salem. According to him, after a visit to the country of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Egyptian authorities intend to do everything possible for the comfort of Russians.

In Cairo, in order to return the Russians to their resorts, they also consider the extension of the visa collection. "Currently, active negotiations are underway in order to extend this practice for a longer period, possibly for the summer season," Salem said.

At the beginning of this year, Egypt authorities for four months - from January 15 to April 30 - exempted the Russians from the payment of a visa fee, which amounted to $ 25. This decision was made due to the reduction of almost half the flow of Russian tourists. This measure is expected to increase the number of rounds by 20 percent.

The readiness of Egypt to switch to rubles in calculations with Russian tourists was announced on January 19. According to the Minister of Tourism of Egypt, Hisham Zaaza, the transition may begin in February of this year. It is assumed that at the first stage, the ruble will be used to pay for vouchers for accommodation and in the calculations of travel agencies. On the second, the transition to the ruble to pay for imports from Russia to Egypt is not excluded.
