“Naftogaz of Ukraine” does not intend to pay for the supply of natural gas to Gazprom to the DPR and the LPR if the Russian holding presents the bill. This was stated by the head of Naftogaz Andrey Kobolev, reports Ligabusinessinform.
“Such supplies are contrary to the letter and the spirit of our contract with Gazprom,” Kobolev noted. Therefore, Naftogaz will not pay such an account. ” He emphasized that the supply procedure was strictly regulated, and without the consent of Naftogaz, Gazprom does not have the right to supply gas in those areas that are not agreed with the Ukrainian side.
Kobolev also said that Naftogaz has already partially resumed gas supply to the ATO zone. He explained their termination by damage to gas pipelines as a result of hostilities.
“Over the past five to eight hours, our services could not approach those gas pipelines that could resume deliveries in full to the ATO zone. Now such an opportunity has appeared, and now these supplies have been resumed,” Kobolev noted.
Earlier, the department of main gas pipelines on the territory of the LPR reported that Ukraine from the evening of Wednesday "finally and barbarously" disconnected the supply of gas in the territory of the Lugansk and Donetsk "people's republics".
The chief engineer of the Office Vadim Tupo, in this regard, stated that the gas available on the territory of the LPR will be enough only until Thursday evening.
On Thursday, the speaker of the People’s Council of the DPR Andrei Purgin said that the self -proclaimed Donetsk "People’s Republic" switched to the use of gas coming directly from Russia.
"From now on, the republic uses Russian gas. Now there is heating in the republic, switching has already happened," he said. "All valves were completely blocked, the gas does not come to us from Ukraine. Tonight, as I understand it, a special commission dealt with this issue, a switch was made," Purgin added.
