The criminal case against Baumerther has been terminated

In Russia, a criminal case has been terminated against the former general director of Uralkali, Vladislav Baumgernner. This was stated by the Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Konyuk, reports TASS.

The Prosecutor General of Belarus said that in the near future he will hold negotiations with the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia, at which he plans to discuss the issue of compensation for Belarus damage to the "potassium case".

"The very fact of the termination of a criminal case against Baumerther does not mean that in the order of civil proceedings it will not be possible to file claims," ​​Konyuk emphasized.

Baumertner’s lawyer Dmitry Shashkov confirmed to RBC that the criminal case against Baumerther was terminated due to the lack of corpus delicti. The representative of the TFR refused to comment.

On August 26, 2013 , Baumertner was detained in Minsk after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich against the backdrop of the termination of Uralkali cooperation with Belaruskali. Then the Belarusian law enforcement agencies called the amount of damage of $ 100 million.

In October 2013, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that his country is ready to transfer to Russia the arrested Baumerther, if he compensates for the damage .

At the end of November 2013 , Baumertner was delivered from Belarus to Moscow and placed in an investigative insulator. However, then the Moscow Basmanny Court changed the measure of restraint for house arrest . On September 17, 2014, the court at the request freed Baumertner on bail of 15 million rubles.

On April 18, 2014, the Investigative Committee of Belarus transferred a criminal case against Baumerther and the former co -owner of Uralkalia Suleiman Kerimov in Russia. According to the head of the Main Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes in Organized Crime and Corruption of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Sergey Vorobyov, such a decision was made due to the fact that all the accused are Russian citizens and are on its territory. At the same time, Vorobyov noted that the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic is working on the preparation and presentation of claims in the framework of this case. According to him, the amount of damage is more than 90 million dollars.

Against the backdrop of a conflict with the Belarusian authorities, Kerimov began to receive offers for the sale of 21.75 percent of Uralkali shares. As a result, the package was bought by the "ONEXIM" Mikhail Prokhorov . The new shareholder of the company also became Dmitry Mazepin Uralhim.
