
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council "On Extraordinary measures to counteract the Russian threat and manifestations of terrorism supported by the Russian Federation." This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
According to the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, the government was instructed to immediately take measures to assist the victims of terrorist acts in the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, primarily the civilians of the city of Mariupol. In addition, together with local administrations, it should be equipped with refugee receptions from the conflict zone within two -week periods.
The government should develop a number of bills, in particular to improve the composition, functions and powers of the anti -terrorism center at the SBU, as well as the establishment of criminal liability for crimes against humanity.
The National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, together with the government, should take a number of urgent measures to suppress "Russian information aggression, carried out using foreign and domestic media."
The SBU was entrusted with "to activate information and explanatory work in order to neutralize the dangerous influence of the Russian Federation on the socio-political situation." You should also organize informing the population about the procedure for the threat of terrorist attacks.
The National Security and Defense Council also suggested that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine take measures to recognize the so -called Donetsk People's Republic and the Lugansk People's Republic with terrorist organizations.
On January 27, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized Russia as aggressor . 271 deputy voted for the corresponding decision.
Rada called on the parliaments of foreign states, PACE and NATO parliamentary Assembly to recognize Russia with an aggressor state, a state that supports and finances terrorism and blocks the activities of the UN Security Council. Along with this, the Ukrainian parliament urged its international partners to declare Donetsk and Lugansk "people's republics" with terrorist organizations and not allow the guilty people in crimes against humanity to avoid punishment. Finally, the Rada announced the need to strengthen pressure on Moscow by taking new sanctions.
