E. L. James wants to write a script for the continuation of "Fifty shades of gray"

The author of "Fifty Shades of Gray" E. L. James wants more control over the release of the film version of the continuation of the novel and requires Universal Pictures to become a scriptwriter of the sequel "fifty shades darker," Variety reports.

According to the sources of the publication, now Universal is negotiating with the author of the bestseller and this explains the delay in the start of work on the continuation of the film, which has already collected more than $ 300 million at the world rent.

Unlike most successful franchises, aimed at maintaining the team of the first film, with the sequel "Fifty Shades of Gray", apparently, this will not happen. According to the sources of the publication, the director Sam Taylor-Johnson and screenwriter Kelly Marseil is unlikely to return to the project, although representatives of the studio notes that there are no official decisions yet.

According to the press secretary of Universal, the studio initially intended to negotiate with James after the premiere of the first film and discuss the following steps, but this has not yet happened.

Due to all this uncertainty, the launch of the sequel is unlikely to begin earlier the first quarter of 2016, which will mean access to the screens only by the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017, the publication notes.
