Concern "Kalashnikov" will produce drones and boats

The Kalashnikov concern acquired 51% of the shares of the Rybinsk Shipyards enterprise and 51% of the shares of the Izhevsk company ZALA Aero, which produces drones, the concern’s general director, Alexey Krivoruchko, told reporters on Sunday.

“The concern, along with small arms, will also produce civilian and military boats, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles,” Krivoruchko said at an exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

Krivoruchko spoke about plans for the development of new production by the Kalashnikov concern to Rostec CEO Sergei Chemezov, who visited an arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

As Interfax was told in the concern, in accordance with the new development strategy until 2020 aimed at developing new segments of the core market, Kalashnikov will engage in the comprehensive development and production of high-tech landing, search and rescue and pleasure boats, promoting products to new markets and expanding sales

“As part of the new development strategy of the concern until 2020, the key task is to expand the production line of the Kalashnikov Concern,” Krivoruchko noted. “Therefore, a decision was made to acquire a share of 51% of the Euroyachting Rybinsk Shipyard Group of Companies.”

The concern plans to conduct comprehensive development and serial production of civilian and combat boats, and also plans to provide the full life cycle of products from development to disposal."

The Kalashnikov Concern, based on the Rybinsk Shipyard group of companies, plans to develop and produce modern high-tech landing, search and rescue and pleasure boats intended for specialized departments, as well as river and sea trips.

The scope of application of the products covers the fight against piracy and terrorism, allows for the transfer of personnel and landing of troops on an unequipped coast, its fire support, and also allows for a full range of patrol and search and rescue operations.

Landing, search and rescue and pleasure boats under the Rybinsk Shipyard brand will be promoted under the corporate brand of the Kalashnikov Concern.

The new holding structure will include Euroyachting, Rybinsk Shipyard, RSV-Service and Rybinsk Shipyard as subsidiaries. Additionally, the concern is considering the possibility of expanding its activities to provide customers with a range of services for the storage and repair of boats.

ZALA Aero is a Russian developer of unmanned aerial vehicles. The concern plans to conduct projects for the production of UAVs in Russia. The ZALA trademark will join the portfolio of brands of the Kalashnikov Concern.

“On the basis of the Kalashnikov Concern and the ZALA Aero company, we plan to develop and produce unmanned aerial vehicles, mobile and ground control stations,” Krivoruchko noted. “The main products will be reconnaissance unmanned aircraft, helicopters and balloons. The decision to acquire a controlling stake in ZALA Aero to expand the concern’s production line is carried out within the framework of the Kalashnikov development strategy until 2020 and the development of new segments of the core market.”

The scope of application of UAVs will cover the protection of state borders, reconnaissance and rescue operations, as well as special-purpose operations. The partners also plan to develop and produce UAVs for aerial monitoring of high-risk facilities and emergency situations, as well as conducting geodetic, cartographic work and scientific research in harsh climatic conditions.
