The head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for the Donetsk region, Vyacheslav Abroskin, announced the prevention of a terrorist attack in Mariupol.
According to him, on the evening of February 23, a police rapid response group stopped a car in the city to check documents. They opened fire on the policemen: three people were seriously injured, one of them died in the hospital. One criminal was killed by return fire, the second managed to escape.
A bag of explosives was found in the car.
“At the cost of the life of a police officer in the Donetsk region, a terrorist attack was prevented, which could have claimed dozens of lives of civilians in Mariupol,” Abroskin added.
