The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine announced the prevention of a terrorist attack in Mariupol

The head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for the Donetsk region, Vyacheslav Abroskin, announced the prevention of a terrorist attack in Mariupol.

According to him, on the evening of February 23, a police rapid response group stopped a car in the city to check documents. They opened fire on the policemen: three people were seriously injured, one of them died in the hospital. One criminal was killed by return fire, the second managed to escape.

A bag of explosives was found in the car.

“At the cost of the life of a police officer in the Donetsk region, a terrorist attack was prevented, which could have claimed dozens of lives of civilians in Mariupol,” Abroskin added.

• On February 22, an explosion occurred during a patriotic march in Kharkov. Three people became victims of the attack - two of them died on the spot, another died in the hospital from his injuries.
• Four people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the attack. Oleksandr Turchynov, head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, accused Russia of being involved in the explosion: the perpetrators of the attack were allegedly trained in Belgorod.
