Director Yevgeny Tatarsky died

On Monday, February 23, filmmaker and screenwriter Yevgeny Tatarsky died in St. Petersburg at the age of 76.

Evgeny Markovich Tatarsky was born in Leningrad in 1938, studied at the Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute, worked as a laborer at the Leningrad film studio of popular science films, in 1969 he graduated from the director's faculty of the Leningrad Institute of Culture, in 1975-the highest courses of scenariists and directors (workshop Alexander Mitta).

Since 1964, Evgeny Tatarsky worked at the Lenfilm film studio, at first he was an assistant to the director, then the second director. In 1977, he shot the psychological detective “Golden Mina”, in 1979 - the multi -part adventure film “The Adventures of Prince Florisel” based on the works of Robert Lewis Stevenson, who was released in 1981.

The director’s filmography has several more popular film and television films. Since the late 1990s, he shot TV shows-“Streets of Broken Lights”, “Slaughter Power” and “Niro Wulf and Archie Goodwin”.

Since 2001, Evgeny Tatarsky has been the chairman of the Union of Cinematographers of St. Petersburg.

Farewell to the director will take place at the Lenfilm film studio. The date and place of the funeral will be announced additionally.
