An alarm clock with spiders, a 3D printer for subway tokens and other business ideas from Russian-language Twitter
The phrase “Idea for a startup,” which initially did not have a comic connotation, is a common way in RuNet to begin presenting the idea of an absurd, funny or ridiculous service that potentially solves a real-life problem.

Most of these jokes depend on the season, holidays and current trends. For example, at the beginning of December there were jokes on Twitter about the sale of coupons to exchange offices , towards the end of the month - about recognizing the filling of candies in New Year's gifts, and immediately after the New Year - about services for finishing salads. There are also those that are not tied to time and can pop up in different accounts for several years in a row.
Examples of using the meme on Twitter can be found as early as 2011, when the service was just gaining popularity among users from Russia. By the beginning of 2015, the meme remained relevant, and jokes based on it appear on the Internet every day.
TJ collected several examples of fresh “startup ideas”, dividing them into categories for convenience.
