1990. The beginning of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Czechoslovakia

25 years ago, on February 26, 1990, three months after the “velvet revolution”, the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Czechoslovakia, introduced there in 1968 to suppress the “Prague Spring”. On this day, an agreement was signed in Moscow on the full withdrawal of Soviet troops from Czechoslovakia. On June 27, 1991, the former commander of the central group of troops, Colonel General Eduard Vorobyov, left the country last. In total, in 1968-1991, about 1 million people carried the service in the CGV.
