From Russia with dislike

The journalist and blogger from Yurga Dmitry Shipilov, who spent the mocking posts about the Kemerovo governor Aman Tuleyev, did not reach Ukraine. In 2012, Shipilov was sentenced to 11 months of amendments under Article 319 of the Criminal Code (insulting a representative of the authorities), and then replaced the punishment for 3 months 20 days in a colony-settlement and instituted another criminal case. Last fall, blogger was detained in the suburbs and transferred to the Kemerovo pre -trial detention center. He went out to freedom before the New Year.

Was the detention for you a surprise?

Honestly, no. When you are in the position in which I have been in the last two years, when your choice is either a political prisoner or a political emigrant, sooner or later something should have happened. Well, it happened a little at the wrong time, not at the moment when it was expected, but there was no surprise. I understand perfectly what state I live in.

Why didn't you serve correctional labor?

Because this would mean the recognition of the sentence is authorized, legally significant. This is already consonant with the fact that the criminal case and the processes that were connected with it are legitimate. Regardless of whether I would leave Siberia then or not, I would not fulfill the verdict. What for? I did not work for this state for a single day, and the verdict in the form in which it was issued was not an occasion to abandon my views and approaches to this life. Moreover, the formulation of "correctional work" implies the obligation to be corrected to you. I do not think that I have to be corrected, I am comfortable with my views, in the skin in which I live. To agree to the resolution of the sentence - this would cause a giant internal conflict.

During the time that you have served, you did not become a larger conformist?

I became a larger hedonist. No. I can’t say that I have somehow changed. At least I hope that I have not changed for the worse, since the system of correction and punishment in this country does not contribute to personality ennolation. Maybe it has changed a little for the better, because ... there people also sit there. Regardless of what articles these are, regardless of what terms it is, regardless of whether it is a case with a real texture or with a far -fetched investigator.

Did your political article change something for you in relations with other prisoners, with the administration?

The 319th itself should not be perceived as a political, if only various kinds of officials did not use it to save accounts. In its purest form, it should protect law enforcement officers, a power bloc, but in no way, consolidated political functionaries should not be mixed here. As for my case, many prisoners, when they found out why I was in prison, a smile appeared. Because here is a person who carried five kilograms of heroin in a backpack or cleaned the antique salon for 100 thousand - in general, people performed some kind of action ...

Do you think this article should be applied?

In the legal state - yes. But the circle of possible victims must be limited: this is a power block in the performance of their duties. But we are talking about some ideal of the state. With the same success, the Criminal Code should be in the Criminal Code and the slander is to be. But when we have the legal porridge that is now, these articles should be decriminalized.

Should you slander in the Criminal Code?

Yes. And extremism should be there. This whole set should be, but the punishment for them in no way should assume real imprisonment. This is Western practice, analogues of these articles are in the legislation of any legal state.

How did you have a relationship with other prisoners?

Fine. Because not only in prisoners, but also in the same FSIN workers, in each with whom I talked, tried to see a person, find the points of contact. Or find their complete absence and then look through this person - there were such cases.

Did you have political discussions there?

What kind of political discussions can be there? The contingent of the sidelts as a whole reflects our real life. On the other hand, if in everyday normal life you would not communicate with someone, then you would have no choice, so you had to discuss. But the level of views, knowledge of historical, political science, cultural, not only leaves much to be desired - it is simply not usually. Basically, I had to communicate with those who recently drove, they watched TV. In the same Noginsk, the TV was constantly in the cell, in Kemerovo the administration left either TV or radio for one week in the cell. Not to say that the main contingent sought to learn something, but the news looked regularly. Trust is one hundred percent. You try to understand on the basis of which people are ready to exchange their year in a colony of general regime for a struggle, it is not clear why in the southeast of Ukraine on the side of the separatists. They are sacredly confident that in Kyiv the junta, terrible fascists destroy the Russian population, and are ready instead of serving their term in warmth, in comfort, sometimes in total nothing ...

Have you ironized about warmth and comfort now? Or is it in comparison with the war?

Of course, in comparison with the war. One guy went through the Chechen war, and, apparently, the shrapnel in his brain stuck deeply. He knows what he is talking about. And there are people who absolutely did not encounter either military discipline or army business. People woke up in such a perverted form. To say that I met people there who share my views ... Well, they were two of the three hundred people who passed before my eyes. These are the people of my generation or a little older, these are people who have seen at least something in life, read, they try and are self-figured there.

How are they so different? Are these students on the 228th?

In one case, it was just a student who hit the 228th. An eighteen -year -old guy from Kemerovo, who turned out to be much smarter than thirty -year -old men. There is nothing to do with the prison. If you have an inner rod, something human, then the place will not spoil you. I talked about the overall cut of society, there it also manifests itself.

In society, by no means 2 to 300 ...

In some regions, even less.

In Moscow, there are still much more disagreements.

There is much more in Moscow, because this people are running here from the regions. You yourself know very well what a beautiful region of the Kemerovo region. This is a habitat, it can not even be called an environment for life. I have a lot of friends left the Kemerovo region, because when you feel like a foreign body, living in such an environment is fraught with either mental disorders or criminal cases.

What was the hardest in prison for you?

I will answer very corny. In addition to the very lack of freedom, I am a freedom -loving person, but with a lack of freedom you are very quickly resigned, some kind of breakdown took place in the first week or two - this is a lack of silence, darkness.

Was your cameras overpopulated?

The Yekaterinburg Central was overpopulated because it was a transit prison and one could go to bed with one contingent, and wake up and see completely different faces. As for Kemerovo, Mariinsk and Noginsk, well, at least some visibility of observing the sanitary norm of the area was. Although then I found out that there were cameras above our floor in Noginsk, where, with a norm of 20 people, there were 40.

What insured you: fame, the presence of a lawyer?

Fame is not the right word, but the insurance was a media noise, the presence of a media lawyer, the presence of a political prisoner status. It worked, and these three and a half months were carried out by me not quite honestly. I was not in cells where 40 people were sitting, where glasses were broken - but it was far from summer or even warm autumn. The status saved not only me, but also my cellmates. There is such a thing as an unplanned shmon - the whole floor is shaken. Before the New Year, it was, because the New Year is a holiday, it is celebrated with active moonshine. But we were bypassed.

This is strange, because it is the political prisoners under demonstrative shmons that are constantly falling ...

They were. In the same Noginsk after the visit of the PMC. This is such a stupid primitive revenge of the lower composition. But on the other hand - what to expect from the contingent that works there? Because people go there, for example, in Noginsk or Mariinsk, because there is no work. But in Yekaterinburg or Kemerovo, where it is a little better with work, and salaries in the FSIN are ridiculous pennies, for many this work, if you look at the faces and eyes of the convoy, the only opportunity in life to somehow raise themselves over the rest of the people. For the most part, people with a giant number of complexes go there. Now the system has become better, they cannot use physical strength, but regarding the vocabulary, if you put many convoy in the camera, you will not see the difference. They may be the same contingent in the future.

Did you have psychological pressure?

Not really. In itself, immersion in these places is torture, given that the Russian prison has not changed in its approaches since Soviet times. There was no psychological impact, I just had a voyage to the place of punishment, where I never reached.

And during interrogations in the new business?

The 51st was immediately taken there. I said that no conversation with them is impossible. Perhaps psychological pressure would be later.

Have you had any conditions of liberation, private conversations? For example, Sergey Kryukov, who asked for asylum in Ukraine, said that he was released because he pleaded guilty and agreed to a special order.

In fact, there is nothing wrong with this, because you can have any views, but when you find yourself there and see sunlight through a window unwashed for several years, through a bars, why not? There is no civil society in this country, you are interesting for the media, while your history is info -breeding, the political forces that could be engaged in your story, too, we have everything merged in all directions. He is absolutely right - apparently sitting, he realized that his life is only in his hands, no one needs him except himself.

If we talk about me, then yes, there was a deal, and more precisely, an agreement, but I'm not sure that it will be observed by that party. The meaning was like this: write what you want, but a certain character needs to be forgotten. But the fact is that already somewhere in October 2013 I wrote a prostrate post on Facebook that those who connect their lives should be engaged in the future of the region. For me, the Kemerovo region is not a present and even more so not the future. By that time, it became clear to me that in Kuzbass there is nothing and nobody, for the sake of whom it would be worth pressing on the keyboard. For the most part, those who live there do not cause me pity. On the contrary, it is clear that people like it when they wipe their legs. Well, for God's sake. The rest have already left.

Why did your light with a wedge in Tuleyev come down? Why did you devote so many lines to him?

Firstly, not as much as we would like. Tuleyev is a rather caricature character in the modern political landscape, and watch him ... Well, this is such a zoological interest. Because every time he performs some loud public action, you look and think that there is nowhere to fall below, but each time he succeeds.

It sounds pathetic, but the Kemerovo region is my homeland, I was born there, grew up. Of course, I left on time. If you recall the end of the 80s, Kuzbass was a platform with which, by and large, the change in the country began. It was there that the first private independent newspaper ("Our newspaper") appeared, there was civil activity. This region has a glorious past, disgusting present and deeply disgusting future. Until a certain point, it bothered me and was annoying. Not now. Each is worthy of those leaders who have. If you look at statistics, for 17 or 18 years of its reign, 700 thousand people from the Kemerovo region left. This is one of the regions - leaders in internal migration in the country. Let someone else care about this small cozy ghetto.

About Russia as a whole, do you have the same opinion?

Well, yes, by and large. There are only a few cities that can be called conditionally suitable for life. Despite the fact that I wildly do not like megalopolis, but really it is Moscow or Peter.

Do you think you did not pass the Ethics’s face in your jokes of Tuleyev?

The face of ethics ... is it ashamed to me or not? No, not ashamed. Absolutely not ashamed, since this is a person who sequentially throughout the governor's term was engaged in the fact that he washed down the second chapter of the constitution. Neither freedom of speech, nor freedom of the press, nor freedom of assembly, in Kuzbass. The mechanisms of the fight against this can be different. I am more and more inclined to the idea that it would be the most correct to pick up a weapon in this situation, but if we are talking about ethics, you need to look at a person who seems to be victims.

Were these statements so unethical in comparison with those that he and his team allow himself? I think not. I think that it was necessary to be tougher and even dirtier in places, because it is simply impossible to surpass Aman and his press service in their methods. This just lies outside the ethics of journalistic and human, regardless of what time we are talking about. When they choose as arguments in the fight against disagreements what they choose ... And here you can endlessly list the way they and Nina Ostanina had broken. The crown of the press service, in terms of the label of the shit to the information market, is the invoice made in Photoshop from the supposedly some Moscow clinic with FULL NAME ONEININA, from which it has passed one cosmetological procedure, is called the “whitening of the anus”. This was posted on the absenteeism. With all these remarks about what Amangeldy asks or does not ask, I do not think that I can approach this excellent level. Yes, Nina is a politician, but, in addition to everything, she is also a woman. As for some ethical moments, the figure of Aman Gumirovich itself has long removed any ethical issues. Ethical claims can make an impeccable person.

Have you ever dealt with civil or political activism, except for journalism and blog entries?

No, I have never done it and I will never do it. This path was never interesting to me, as well as membership in political parties. But about the political parties, it is more and more understandable: there is simply not a single political party now, which is not what I would like to enter - which I would like to sympathize. As for civil activism, I do not have a heightened sense of justice, I am too lazy to do this. I’d better watch the new season of some serial. I had these views five years ago, and two years ago, now they have become even more rigid, because, looking at the level of public degradation that occurred literally in the last year, I didn’t want to do anything. Events in Ukraine are a point of no return.
