In the self -proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, "Minister of Coal and Energy" Yevgeny Faynitsky was detained, reports the Donetsk news agency.
The reasons for the detention are not specified, however, on Wednesday, the DPR government consultant Roman Manekin convicted Faynitsky in the absence of "specific actions to ensure the energy security of the republic." According to him, 15 fuel trucks were arrested on the Russian-Ukrainian border. “In practice, this means that tomorrow the republic will be left without fuel. There are no stocks,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Faynitsky was appointed minister of coal and energy on December 2 last year. Before him, the head of the department was Alexei Granovsky. In mid-November, he and the Deputy Prime Minister of the DPR government Alexander Kalyusky were arrested.
According to the prosecutor's office of the republic, officials are suspected of abuse of powers.
