According to Porzhinskaya, the senator was denied the entrance "within the framework of the response measures taken by the Russian side in relation to a number of states, including Poland, which imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation." "Bogdan Borusevich is included in the list of persons who are prohibited from entering the territory of Russia," she explained.

The official emphasized that the decision to prevent the Senate marshal in Moscow "has nothing to do with the funeral of Boris Efimovich Nemtsov."

Meanwhile, Borusevich himself, according to TVN24, rejected the explanations of the Russian side, characterizing them as far -fetched. According to the politician, his arrival in Moscow would destroy the myth of the Rusophobia of the Poles created by Kremlin propaganda. Later on Monday, the deputy of the European Parliament, the former Foreign Minister of Latvia Sandra Kalnita at the Moscow Airport Sheremetyevo, was also denied entry to Russia. She reported this on a Facebook page.
