The Kaliningrad “Flag Case” will not be returned to the prosecutor’s office

The Central District Court of Kaliningrad refused to return to the prosecutor's office the case of hanging the German flag on the building of the regional FSB. As part of this case, Kaliningrad activists Oleg Savvin and Mikhail Feldman, as well as Muscovite Dmitry Fonarev, are accused of hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior agreement based on political hatred and enmity and based on hatred against any social group. The court, at a preliminary hearing held on March 4, refused to satisfy the defense's request to return the case to the prosecutor's office, despite the fact that the defense pointed out numerous violations in the case, RAPSI reports citing Feldman 's lawyer Dmitry Dinze. Consideration of the case on the merits will begin on March 16. The lawyer also said that the European Court of Human Rights registered his client's complaint about the violation of the right to liberty and security of person and freedom of expression.
