Evgeny Gerasimov may become the artistic director of the Taganka Theater.

Theater and film actor, director, deputy of the Moscow City Duma from the United Russia party, Yevgeny Gerasimov, may take the position of artistic director of the theater on Taganka.

Such a wish expressed part of the theater team, reports TASS .

“I am ready to lead this theater, I am ready to help the artists,” Gerasimov commented. - While I am watching the situation from the outside and see that he has many problems. The most important thing is to maintain the heritage of the founder of the theater Yuri Lyubimov, with whom I had a very good relationship. The last performances that fashionable directors staged on Taganka do not correspond, in my opinion, its level. ”

According to Gerasimov, he discussed this issue with the head of the Moscow Department of Culture Sergei Kapkov, but he had not made any specific proposal.

The post of artistic director at the Taganka Theater remains vacant since March 2013, when, for health reasons, Valery Zolotukhin left him, who headed the theater for a year and a half after the departure of Yuri Lyubimov.

On March 4, it became known that the director of the theater on Taganka Kapkov appointed actress Irina Apksimova.
