In Simferopol, after a rally in honor of the 201nd anniversary of the birth of the Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, police officers detained the organizer of the action Leonid Kuzmin and two more participants, Radio Liberty reports . The reason was the use of Ukrainian symbols at a rally.
About 50 people took part in the action. The rally took place in the Gagarinsky park. The organizers applied for it in a traditional place - at the monument to the poet. However, the occupation authorities refused them, citing the fact that another action was planned there.
The audience read the poet’s poems, and also chanted the slogan "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Glory!" At the rally, one Crimean Tatar flag and two Ukrainian were deployed. On one of them it was written "Crimea - this is Ukraine."
The action passed peacefully. When it ended and people began to disperse, the police conducted the detention. About 15 participants in the rally were held by detainees to the police department.
