Kapkov resigned

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin accepted the resignation of the head of the Moscow Department of Culture Sergei Kapkov and appointed Alexander Kibovsky to this post of the head of the cultural heritage department.

According to Interfax , Sobyanin announced this at a meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow Government. The mayor said that Kapkov "did a great work on the reorganization of Moscow parks" and "brought a new style to their work."

Sobyanin also noted the role of Kapkov in improving the activities of museums and libraries and declared gratitude to him “for a great contribution to the development of Moscow culture”.

On his Facebook, Kapkov specified that he had left of his own free will. “The study of the conspiracy the circumstances of my dismissal gave me a true pleasure,” he wrote.

Messages about the upcoming resignation of Kapkov appeared at the end of last week. There was no official confirmation of this information, Kapkov himself refused to comment.

Alexander Kibovsky (b. 1973)-graduate of the Russian State University, candidate of historical sciences (theme of the dissertation “Historical and subject method of attributes of works of portrait painting of Russia of the XVIII-the first half of the XIX century”), chairman of the Moscow branch of the Russian military-historical society.

Since 2008, Kibovsky led the federal service for supervision of compliance with the legislation in the field of cultural heritage protection (Rososhranculture), and in the fall of 2010 he headed the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow.
