30 years ago, on March 10, 1985, the Secretary General of the CPSU Central Committee and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Konstantin Ustinovich Chernenko died.
He least of all in history held the post of general secretary - 1 year and 26 days.
Chernenko’s reign was only remembered by the return of the Soviet delegation to negotiations to reduce medium -range missiles in Europe, interrupted by his predecessor Yuri Andropov.
