"Tangaiser" like an overture

The decision of the Court of the Central District of Novosibirsk in the Tangiazer case seems to be a rare example of reasonable behavior of the authorities. Or even the "victory of art", as the theater critic Pavel Rudnev formulated. The termination of the case, initiated by the Metropolitan of Novosibirsk, "for the lack of an event of an offense," of course, became possible only under the pressure of the theater community. Letters in support of the director and chief director were even sent by such grands as Mark Zakharov, Oleg Tabakov and Galina Volchek, who had long ignored any acute social topics, and even not at all prone to rebellion, the Petersburg BDT and the Vakhtangov Theater.

What, however, you can’t meet Facebook. These days, I even came across calls for the theater community to hold a one -day strike in support of the accused colleagues. And although from calls to strike the distance as from Novosibirsk to the Kremlin, they clearly show a plug of protest.

So, what do we see if we renounce the pathetics that lies in the ears on both sides? On the one hand, theater figures participate in the conflict. Professional activities in this area, as a rule, are not profitable. Revenues from the sale of tickets are usually (and in Russia almost always) do not pay off. Theatrical art is financed by sponsors. In Russia, this is almost always a state, which means all taxpayers. At the same time, the consumers of this kind of art are few. In the millionaire city, these are several thousand “theaters”, who consider it their duty to attend all new performances, plus a wider circle of people whom the directors consider it necessary to attract additional effects - from competent advertising and visiting stars to scandals.

The other side of the conflict is the Novosibirsk Metropolis. This is exactly the same concert and ideological institution, which exists largely at the expense of the state and serving the interests of a rather limited circle of persons. If in one and a half million Novosibirsk the share of the churching about the same as in other large cities of Russia, then the opinion of the clergy is important for approximately 7.5 thousand inhabitants of the city. This is about the same as in the same city you can dial the "managed theateraries" (until the end of February, 3.5 thousand people visited the Tangayzer).

And how do the parties dispose of such social capital? Having chosen the strategy of public scandals - no less legitimate than radical productions - the Novosibirsk Metropolitan acts as an experienced team.

Metropolitan Tikhon (Emelyanov), once close to the radical-nationalist publication of Konstantin Dushenov "Orthodox Rus'", is known as a long-time hater of the liberal intelligentsia. He has had the experience of Sutyazhniy since 1996, when he, as the director of the church publishing house, unsuccessfully sued the competing company.

However, the main engine in his team is Archpriest Alexander Novopashin, rector of a large Alexander Nevsky parish in Novosibirsk. This is an experienced fighter with dissenters. From the end of the 1990s, his parishioners held many actions aimed mainly at disrupting the events of religious competitors - up to quite status Catholics. Since 1992, an Orthodox youth " squad " operated at the temple. Now she joined the Interregional Center for Russian Martial Arts "Russian Shield" (co -founder - Novosibirsk Metropolitan, partner - Military Institute of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs), which, in turn, is the reference point of the Russian line right -winging group, created by the eternal candidate for Novosibirsk mayors, former Army political worker Evgeny Loginov. Novopashin himself loves to contact the authorities with various complaints, which are often satisfied. In the conflict around the “Tangaiser” Novopashin, not hoping for the authority of the bishop, tried to take Muslims , who, in his opinion, should also be offended.

The third member of the team is the typical "man without a biography" Yuri Zadoy , now submitted by the chairman of the Novosibirsk branch of the People's Cathedral organization. This noticeable organization of Russian nationalists, led by the former member of RNE Oleg Kassin, is known for numerous appeals and lawsuits in the interests of the Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow. Since the late 2000s, law enforcement agencies have been tirelessly huddling in the late 2000s. Usually he does not like street advertising, as well as performances by foreign rock groups. Some concerts - those performers whom the sag (and the diocese standing behind it) considered the satanic - they managed to disrupt. In addition to complaints, Zadya uses for pressure on power and rallies, for which several hundred people are gathering, local nationalists and Orthodox activists, especially from the arrival of Novopashin.

What can the creative intelligentsia and local democrats, with sadness, looking at the relatively numerous rallies of the Orthodox against this active and experimental team. There is nothing at all. Russian rockers completely ignored the prohibitions on concerts and even the police detention of artists of the "satanic" groups, which swept through the Russian province in the summer and autumn of last year. The Novosibirsk Rock Tusovka, which was not allowed into concerts, was wiped. In the conflict around the Tangazer, I could not find any evidence that the Novosibirsk Academic Theater tried to at least somehow mobilize its supporters at the local level. All the performances of the Novosibirsk Democrats were limited to a single picket of the apple party member. In a large university city, freedom of expression and the rights of the artist simply did not find defenders.

And instead of the real expression of the will of the people, the Russian opposition (albeit artistic) went along the hollow path: letters of support, as good as possible - if only the king -father would have seen and evil boyars got rid of. And you have to, a miracle happened, the authorities helped - lagged behind!

Until the next time, citizens, until the next time. For the team described above and its numerous, but the supporters will not calm down yet. The bow between the Orthodox Sutyags and the persons sympathizing with them in regional administrations is observed not only in Novosibirsk, but also in Moscow, Tula, Belgorod, Yekaterinburg and other cities. Large artists, as a rule, intervene only in particularly large scandals, which leaves without protection many professionals, not as famous as the hero of Novosibirsk history - director Timofei Kulyabin. So, having broken their teeth on celebrities, the coins (and pogromers) will break the anger on someone else. And until they feel the danger to themselves until all their activities become the subject of close consideration, if not law enforcement officers, then at least local authorities, nothing will change in Russia.
