The British singer and future spacecraft Sarah Brightman, together with her ex -husband, famous composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, works on a new song that he intends to perform in orbit, RIA Novosti reports.

It is planned that Brightman will become the eighth space tourist who visited the ISS. The Russian astronaut Sergei Volkov and the astronaut of the European Space Agency Andreas Mustensen were appointed to the crew of the ISS-45/46 expedition.

"I want to sing a duet with an artist who is on Earth ... We are trying to work on it, we are currently working on music with Lloyd Webber," the singer said at a press conference in London.

She did not reveal the details of the impending performance, noting only that the composer came up with a very beautiful melody. According to the singer, she seriously intends to go into space, for which 16-hour daily training in the star town in Russia takes place. The flight of Brightman to the ISS is scheduled for September 1, it is expected that it will last 10 days.

“This (flight into space) seems unrealistic and crazy, but when a person landed on the moon, I was nine years old and this became a key moment in my life. It changed my idea of ​​life, suddenly my mind opened,” the singer said.

Brightman, who sold about 30 million records during her career, noted that she was paying for a flight from her own funds, but admitted that the contract prohibits her to disclose the cost of the trip.
