The Far Eastern division of the Federal Construction Agency, which is engaged in the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome, promised to repay the debt to local energy workers by March 25. Yuri Lukichev, first deputy head of Dalspetsstroy, reported this to RIA Novosti.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Amurenergosbyt company (a branch of the Far Eastern Energy Company, DEK) reported that Dalspetsstroy has not made timely payments for energy supplies since January 2015. Today, the company estimates the general contractor's debt for consumed electricity is more than 21 million rubles. In addition, the company announced its intention to limit the supply of electricity from March 12, 2015.

According to Amurenergosbyt, back in February a notice was sent to the general contractor about a possible limitation of supplies. “In addition, the company has ongoing payment obligations. By March 25, Dalspetsstroy’s debt may increase to 27.5 million rubles,” Amurenergosbyt said in a statement.

“Debts for electricity supply will be repaid by March 25, priority payment will be made for Vostochny facilities,” Lukichev assured, adding that letters of guarantee have been sent to the Department of Electricity Energy.

The Vostochny Cosmodrome, located in the Amur region, has been under construction since 2012. The construction cost is approximately 300 billion rubles. At the end of January, the Accounts Chamber estimated the excess construction costs at 13 billion rubles. The data was sent to law enforcement agencies.

At the end of October 2014, the Basmanny Court arrested the former head of Dalspetsstroy, Yuri Khrizman, on charges of involvement in the embezzlement of 1.8 billion rubles. during the construction of the Vostochny cosmodrome. Khrizman did not admit guilt.
