Shaikhutdinov is shifted from the post of leader of the "Civil Platform"

The Federal Political Committee of the Civil Platform party voted for removing the chairman of the party of Rifat Shaikhutdinov, according to the party’s website. The founder of the Civil Platform Mikhail Prokhorov made the initiative of his resignation. He also voted for the removal of Shaikhutdinov. The former leader began to be excluded from the party.

Prokhorov himself said that he was leaving all the bodies of the “civilian platform” due to the deviation of the party from the initial course and the participation of its representatives in the Antimaydan rally . In addition, he suggested that the Political Committee recommend the party to make a decision either to change the name or on liquidation. Prokhorov also added that he had not left the party earlier, as he hoped for a successful outcome of the case.

The writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya, lawyer Mikhail Barshchevsky and his other members, except for Shaikhutdinov and Sergey Militsky, was asked to suspend their membership in the Federal Civil Committee of the Civil Platform.

On February 24, Prokhorov criticized Shaykhutdinov’s decision on the participation of the party in the procession of the Anti -Maidan pro -government movement, which took place on February 21.

Shaykhutdinov in an interview with Medusa said that if Prokhorov wanted to leave the party because of this, then he would not prevent him. The party leader also spoke with the exception of the musician Andrei Makarevich from it because of his position on the occupation of Crimea and the conflict in Ukraine. According to Shaikhutdinov, Makarevich discredits the party and repels the electorate from it.

Prokhorov created and headed the "Civil Platform" in 2012. In May 2014, he gave the post of head of the party to Rifata Shaikhutdinov, a former deputy from the LDPR. Then the party began to support the policy of the Russian authorities.
