RELATED: 4chan founder sells website to his masterminds
founder 4chan Christopher Pool has decided to sell the site, writes The Rolling Stone. The buyer has not yet been found, but this idea has already caused alarm in one of the community moderators. “I hope he makes a smart decision about who to sell the site to,” the moderator said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
As for Poole, the boy who grew up on the internet doesn't know what to do yet. “Maybe I’ll become a welder’s assistant? Kidding!" Christopher Poole said in an interview. (English.)

- The pool has never made money on the site. At some point, due to debts, he even had to move back to his mother. On January 21, 2015, Christopher Pool announced his resignation as the site's chief moderator. He delegated authority to three other moderators, who, unlike him, work anonymously.
- In 2009, Time magazine named Christopher Poole one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
- In Russia, Roskomnadzor blocked several 4chan pages. The Russian analogue of the community is the Dvach imageboard .
