The writer Valentin Rasputin died

Writer Valentin Rasputin, who had fallen the other day in coma, passed away. On March 15, he would be 78 years old.

“He died. Four days were in a coma. The issue of farewell and funerals is being resolved. Most likely, farewell will be in Moscow. And they will bury in Irkutsk,” the granddaughter of the writer Antonina told RIA Novosti .

According to Interfax in the Union of Writers of Russia, Rasputin died late in the evening of March 14.

Valentin Rasputin was born on March 15, 1937 in the village of Atalaanka, Ust-Udinsky district of the Irkutsk region in a family of peasants. After school, he entered the philological faculty of Irkutsk State University. The author of the works "Farewell to the Mater", "Lessons of French", "Less Time", "Live and Remember" and many others. It is considered a representative of the so -called "village prose."

Rasputin is a laureate of the two state prizes of the USSR, the Russian State Prize and the Government Prize of the Russian Federation.

In recent years, Rasputin experienced two serious losses: in 2006, his daughter died in a car accident, and in 2012 his wife died.
