In Bashkiria, an activist was given three years in prison for an anonymous article.

On March 12, the Kirovsky District Court of Ufa sentenced Bashkir oppositionist Airat Dilmukhametov to three years in a strict regime colony and banned him from journalism for two years. According to the activist's defenders, it was never proved during the trial that the defendant was the author of the article on the Internet. During the investigation, Dilmukhamtov was first under house arrest, then under house arrest. Taking into custody right in the courtroom came as a surprise to both the convict and his friends, although in the debate the prosecutor demanded that the defendant be sent to a colony for five years. Dilmukhametov was convicted under Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code (“Public calls for terrorist activities or public justification of terrorism”).

The criminal case was opened in July 2013 after the recognition of the extremist article "Akhyr zaman". The article is a religious and political treatise, and its recognition as extremist provoked a scandal, since it contains verses from the Koran, in which the linguistic examination carried out on the case saw signs of extremism. Earlier, in April 2011, Dilmukhametov was sentenced to six years as editor-in-chief of the Maidan newspaper, several issues of which were banned due to public calls for extremist and terrorist activities and public justification of terrorism found in it.
