The 86-year-old medical professor Edmund-Mikhail Luda, a patient with cancer, committed suicide in Moscow after repeatedly refused hospitalization. It is reported by TASS.
Luda committed suicide shortly after 9 in the morning. A cardiologist who has worked for many years in the center of cardiovascular surgery named after Bakuleva, jumped out of the window of his apartment. He left a note in which he accused doctors of his death.
The TASS source in medical circles confirmed that Luda, who suffered from severe pain and no longer got up, caused an ambulance three times over the past two days. “But the ambulance doctors have an unspoken rule that if a person can no longer help, he is not hospitalized,” the agency’s interlocutor added.
The head of the Ministry of Health Veronika Skvortsova instructed Roszdravnadzor to check how the provision of medical care was organized.
